You wake up from a snooze. You are at the airport waiting for a flight, and you rub your eyes awake and sit up in your seat. What time is it? It's 7:30 in the morning. You yawn and look around and some people are looking at you and you feel completely disoriented. Stop staring. you pick up the paper in your lap and try to get your head clear. News... news... Where am I going again? News... Hey a plane had to make an emergency landing in those tiny Azores again. Wow. What are the odds of that happening twice? HP intends to acquire Compaq... what? Israel pounds Arafat's Fatah offices in retaliation for suicide bombings... Arafat?
You are wide awake now, that's for sure. You sit up completely straight in your seat, and look at the top of the page in the paper. September 11, 2001. Holy smokes what a weird dream. You set the paper down and look around. Newark airport. Gate 17... to San Francisco. What is this?!
You ask the woman sitting next to you what the date is. She looks at you strangely, then says September 11. Tuesday. Did you miss your flight? Are you at the wrong gate? Are you okay? And you realize this isn't a dream. This is real. How can this be? And they're starting to board. There's a ticket in your pocket. What's going on? What should I do...?
